Our Work

The foundation's work is dedicated to fostering the positive development of some of the Caribbean's most vulnerable youth, particularly those in Grenada. Despite the myriad challenges these youth face, their resilience and strong desire to support and promote community development are acknowledged and supported by the Shara Foundation. Through their tireless efforts, the foundation becomes a beacon of hope and support for the youth, aiming to empower them to overcome challenges and thrive in their communities.

SHARES Back-to-School Launch

SHARES stands for Supporting Hope, Achieving Results, and Empowering Students. It's not just a program; it's a beacon of opportunity for the youth of Grenada. This initiative is meticulously crafted to address the specific needs of school-aged children, ensuring they start the academic year with confidence, enthusiasm, and the essential supplies required for success.

Key program features for the launch:

  • Comprehensive School Supplies - From notebooks and pens to backpacks and uniforms, SHARES ensures that no child is left behind when it comes to essential school supplies. We believe that a well-equipped student is a student ready to conquer the world.
  • Empowerment Workshops - The SHARES launch goes beyond material support. We are organizing empowerment workshops that focus on building confidence, resilience, and essential life skills. These workshops aim to inspire and guide the youth towards a path of self-discovery and success.
  • Community Engagement - SHARES is not just a program; it's a community movement. We actively engage with local communities, parents, and educators to ensure that the impact is not only felt within the classroom but resonates throughout the community.
  • Future opportunities - The SHARES Back-to-School Supply Launch is not just about the present; it's an investment in the future. By providing the necessary tools and support, we aim to pave the way for these young minds to become future leaders, breaking barriers and achieving remarkable success.

Dr. SAB Health Aid Program

In the heart of Grenada, the Dr. SAB Health Aid Program is projected to make a significant difference by providing crucial health resources to co-ed youth currently housed in residential institutions (homes/orphanages). We believe that good health is a fundamental right, and every young individual deserves access to essential resources that contribute to their well-being.

The primary purpose of the Dr. SAB Health Aid Program is to bridge the gap in health resources for co-ed youth in residential institutions. We aim to empower these young minds by providing not only the basics of health but also fostering an environment where they can make informed choices about their well-being.

Key components of the program:

  • Sanitary Napkins Distribution - Menstrual hygiene is a critical aspect of women's health. The program ensures that young girls in orphanages have access to sanitary napkins, promoting hygiene, comfort, and dignity.t
  • Basic Hygienic Essentials - Basic hygiene is foundational to overall health. The program includes the distribution of toiletries such as bathing soap, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, etc.
  • Developmental Workshops - Empowerment through knowledge is at the core of our program. We strive to conduct evidenced-based workshops facilitated by trained individuals, creating a safe space for discussions about physical health, mental health, reproductive health, relationships, and informed decision-making.
  • Why It Matters - Many youths in residential institutions face unique challenges, and access to health resources should not be one of them. The Dr. SAB Health Aid Program strives to address this disparity, ensuring that these young individuals have the tools they need to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
